Privacy Policy

Last updated June 2, 2026

RGB Hex is built to be privacy-first. The color tools run entirely in your browser, there are no accounts, and the site collects no personal information. This policy explains the details and what would change if features like analytics or advertising are ever added.

What we don’t collect

There is no sign-in and no user account. Color conversions, palette extraction, contrast scoring, and every other calculation happen locally in your browser. Images you open in the Image Palette Extractor are processed on your device and are never uploadedto a server.

Information stored on your device

A little state is kept so the tools work the way you expect — most of it stays on your device:

  • Theme preference. Your light/dark choice is saved in your browser’s local storage so it persists between visits.
  • Color state in the URL. The color you’re working with is encoded in the page’s address so any result is a shareable link. Single-color tools keep it in the URL hash, which browsers never send to the server; some multi-value tools use query parameters, which — like any web address — can appear in the standard hosting request logs described below. Either way it lives in the link you choose to share, and we don’t store it separately or use it to identify you.

Analytics

At the time of writing, RGB Hex runs no analytics and sets no tracking cookies. If privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics are added later, this page will be updated first, and where the law requires consent it will be requested before anything is measured.

Advertising

RGB Hex shows no ads today. If advertising is introduced in the future, visitors in the EU and UK will be shown a certified consent manager (IAB TCF) before any ad or advertising cookie loads, and this policy will be updated to describe it.

Hosting and server logs

The site is a set of static files hosted on Amazon Web Services. As with virtually every website, the host records standard request logs — IP address, browser user-agent, timestamp, and the URL requested — for security, abuse prevention, and basic operations. These logs are not used to build advertising or behavioral profiles.

External links

The References on each tool and the articles in Learn link out to standards bodies and open-source projects. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which govern your use of them.

Children

RGB Hex is a general-audience tool, is not directed at children under 13, and collects no personal information from anyone.

Changes and contact

This policy may be updated as the site evolves; the date above reflects the latest revision. Questions? Reach out via the contact page.
